About Me
I’m the mother of two wonderful boys, Sam and Jack, and we live in the great city of Austin with our 19 and 1/2 year old cat Dickens who will never die. Most of the time I can be found either near the 50% off racks at Target, or on the couch yelling at people on reality TV to pull their heads out. It really depends on the day. I’m a busy woman.
In my previous life, I worked as a copywriter and for a couple of movie studios in L.A., but then I had kids and stopped contributing to society. In the past couple years, I’ve written stuff for McSweeneys, The Stir, Fresh Yarn, Parentwise Austin, AustinWoman, KUT, HybridMom, some sketch comedy, an unproduced screenplay and for various other places I can’t remember because of my raging Benadryl and chardonnay habit.
I’m also busy writing my first book, which will hopefully someday be published by someone other than my husband, and I produced and directed the 2011 Austin Listen to Your Mother show. (The 2012 LTYM show is gearing up now, too. Very exciting.)
I usually post here just once a week, and it’s a little unpredictable, so if you don’t want to miss any of the excitement, subscribe to my feed and you’ll get an email when I put up something new. And just in case you can’t get enough of me, and really, who can’t, I’m also found at my other blog www.themouthyhousewives.com where I dish out advice using my fake psychology degree from Harvard.
Thanks so much for reading!
